Topic: Who Else Is Cleaning Your Home?

We all have IoT stuff in our homes. Could be a lamp. Could be your door lock. Could be that little vacuum cleaner sitting in the corner. I picked the vacuum. Started poking at a couple of security choices the vendor made, got curious, kept pulling on the thread. That thread ended in a hack that pops every one of these vacuums on the planet. This talk is the story of how I got there.
Amir H. is an offensive security engineer and researcher focused on application, cloud, and IoT security, and a co-organizer of DEF CON Toronto (DC416). He is drawn to the systems people and businesses rely on most, and to the deep, hands-on work of taking them apart, understanding exactly how they work, and finding where they break.
